It's FRIDAY!

Gooood morning!

Super quick post before I rush off to school (and breakfast duty...UGH!).  I ran out to the mall last night and saw one of my former students...she was working!  I was immediately transported back 6 years when I was student teaching her 7th grade class.  She has grown up so much...I'm so proud of the young woman she's become.  Best of all, she told me she was just accepted to Benedict College.  :)  Seeing my students grow up is one of my favorite parts of teaching.

Anyway, here was the OOTD for Thursday.

So, I've been out sick from school the past couple days...some allergy/sinus problem.  Sorry I didn't post pics of my fabulous lounge wear!  Maybe later.  :)

Anyway, I went back to school today and although I wasn't 100%, I figured I would fake it 'til I made it.

The Last Day of Summer

Instead of watching the Ohio State v. FAMU game, I'm surfing the web and trying very hard not to do a little online shopping (I REALLY want these!).  It's exciting for an HBCU to play at The Shoe, however, we know it's going to be a bloodbath for Florida A&M, so Hashim and I have decided NOT to watch the massacre.  Someone just let me know the score later, okay?

Today is the last official day of summer and I am actually glad for it.  It definitely feels like fall is here, all the windows are open, and that cool breeze is refreshing after the hot, stuffy week we've had.  I'm a teacher who seriously enjoys her summers off, but there is something about leaves turning, football, hot chocolate and cozy sweaters.  Not to mention, I just purchased a new pair of riding boots I'm dying to wear.  So, although I bid a fond farewell to the summer, I'm welcoming the fall with open arms.  

I've been super lazy about posting this week, so I'm including my OOTD for the past couple days.

Is it really only Tuesday?

So, today's post isn't about my outfit (although I thought I looked spiffy today! Maybe I'll post a pic later).  Actually, I am just ranting about the stressfully long days that go along with being a teacher.  I really do enjoy teaching, and I believe I'm making a difference.  Sometimes, however, I just want to sleep and not feel guilty that I'm not grading tests or planning a spectacular lesson.  You know?

I rushed to get to work today by 8am for a parent meeting (and the parent didn't even show!), and although I stayed until 6:30 last night preparing for today, I was still rushing around this morning!  How does that even happen?  My kids presented their English colony projects and some were amazing...many groups went above and beyond, making up for the other groups that apparently didn't know I passed out a rubric.  :/  Thankfully, my only duty this week is bus duty, and believe me, by 3:45, I was more than ready for a little fresh air!  Okay, I think I'm finished complaining. :)

I'm hoping this blog is not only a way for me to get my fashion fix, I'm also hoping it will be cathartic.  Kind of like a yoga class.

OOTD - Monday

Fall is fast approaching (thank goodness!).   I love the summer, but since school is back in, I'm ready for scarves, riding boots and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes.  It's cooler in the mornings and at night, but still in the 70s during the day, so my outfit today reflects Ohio's craziness.
